At times, we forget that if it isn’t pleasing to the eye, readers may ignore all the work we’ve done and never get around to reading our book, brochure, or pamphlet.
Why? Most readers notice the formatting and layout when something isn’t right. You don’t want that!
It’s best when fonts reflect content. Is it a casual or posh restaurant? Is it a yoga studio or Formula 1® event? Is it a historical fiction or detective novel? Is it nonfiction or a teen book? Is the dialogue, if any, a child, teen, or adult’s voice?
Where will the tables, images, etc … be inserted? Are they print quality? How big should they be? How much white space should surround them?
Is there consistency throughout? Paragraph style, headings, spacing, margins …
